Hilltop Land Clearing was built on hard work, practical experience, and a simple goal — helping property owners make better use of their land.
What started in Spring 2022 as a small part-time operation helping neighbours quickly grew through word of mouth. After purchasing a skid steer and later adding a stump grinder, the business expanded its services and built a steady base of local customers throughout the Peterborough area.
In 2025, after being laid off from full-time employment, I made the decision to commit fully to growing Hilltop Land Clearing. Since then, the focus has been on providing reliable, efficient land clearing services with the right equipment and a strong work ethic behind every job.
I understand that for most customers, this isn’t just “brush” — it’s future pasture, a new building site, better access to their property, or land they’ve been wanting to reclaim for years. That’s why I take the time to understand what each client wants to accomplish before starting a project.
Hilltop specializes in forestry mulching, land clearing, stump grinding, and property improvement services. By offering multiple services, customers can complete more of their projects with one contractor, saving time and hassle.

Meet the Owner
My name is Ryan Douglas. I’m 24 years old and was born and raised in the Peterborough area. Growing up here, I developed a strong appreciation for rural properties, the outdoors, and the work that goes into maintaining and improving land.
I’ve always believed in working hard and taking pride in what I do. I approach every project with that mindset — show up on time, communicate clearly, and leave the property better than I found it. When you hire Hilltop Land Clearing, you’re dealing directly with me from the first call to the final pass of the equipment.
